Harian Kompas- has been published since June 28, 1965. Located in Central Jakarta, Harian Kompas managed to become the largest national newspaper since 1969. In 2004, its daily circulation reached 530,000 copies, and specifically for the Sunday edition, it reached 610,000 copies. The readership of this newspaper reaches 2.25 million people throughout Indonesia.

Kompas is the only newspaper in Indonesia that is audited by the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC). Currently, Harian Kompas also has a digital platform, namely Kompas.ID, in the form of websites and iOS and Android applications. Kompas.ID is the first online news platform in Indonesia that implements a subscription/subscription system, for readers who want to get quality information. The HRO Division of Kompas Daily will plan to create a mascot for branding needs in the Kompas Product Knowledge Daily project. This mascot is described as 2 Kompas Daily employees who are paired between a boy and a girl. The male mascot is named “Didi”, while the female one is named “Lala”.

Process

  1. Ideation

In this process, I looked for mascot design references and I put them together on a mood board.

2. Sketching

After getting a reference, I drew a sketch of the mascot that I would make. Here I use Clip Studio Paint to sketch.

3. Design

After I finished doing the sketch, I continued with making a 3D model of the mascot that I made using 3D Blender. In this process, I did a lot of revisions in colors that were tailored to the needs of the brand.
